West Indies vs Zimbabwe Cricket World Cup 2015 - Match Highlights

Chris Gayle Double Hundred in World Cup 2015
Zimbabwe would have never thought that Chris Gayle would have come up with such an innings considering his poor form throughout World Cup and the series before it. This was indeed a thunder storm when Zimbabwe took on West Indies today.

Chris Gayle started steadily as West Indies started their batting with loosing the first wicket on the second ball of the first over. After that it was no looking back for West Indies as Gayle went onto score a mamoth 215 runs that included some of the biggest sixes ever seen in ICC Cricket World Cup History.

The West Indies opener went onto score his double hundred in the 46th over facing just 138 Balls that becomes one of the fastest double hundred in one day international history. Adding to the records, there was another record broken in the same match, when the giant Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels went on with a huge partnership of 372 Runs beating the previous best of 331 Runs set by Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar in 1999 World Cup against New Zealand.

See What Makes Chris Gayle Special

  • Chris Gayle is the only batsmen to score a century in T-20, a double hundred in one day internationals and a triple hundred in test match cricket.

  • Gayle now ranks third best in the top ODI scores in the history, he just has Rohit Sharma and Sehwag to beat and may be its gonna be this World Cup only, you never know....

  • The Carribean star player has equalled the maximum number of sixes hit in any one day international of 16 sixes that were previously hit by AB De Villiers and Rohit Sharma.

  • West Indies has become the second best team in the one day international history to score 152 Runs in the last 10 overs as compared to the best of 163 Runs set by South Africa in 2015.
